BSDCan Day 1

If I'm going to keep a blog, I obviously must write daily when I go to conferences ...

So here I am in the lovely city of Ottawa. I was up at 4:00 AM to get to the airport and fly to DC (because planes from Pittsburgh don't fly anywhere, they fly you to some other airport where you can get where you're going. It's virtually impossible to get anywhere from Pittsburgh without a connecting flight).

Anyway, I arrived unharmed (although a bit disheveled, I do dislike air travel) and got into the swing of things pretty quickly.

Aside from the joy of sitting in on a PHK talk, I took the BSDA beta exam. This is impressive stuff. I really feel like the BSDCert group is doing a great job. It's nice to see an exam that's tough and fair and really tests the skills it's designed to test without a lot of trick questions and nonsense. That's what I felt the BSDA accomplished, and I can say that without violating my NDA!

More to write tomorrow, I expect. I'm going to hunt down the "hackers lounge" and see if I can fit into a discussion or learn something or another.
